A.D. "Pete" Correll
Chairman

In addition to being Chairman of Atlanta Equity, Mr. Correll is Chairman Emeritus of Georgia-Pacific Corp. He has enjoyed a 40-year career as a successful executive in the forest products, paper and consumer products industries. Mr. Correll oversaw the acquisition and divestiture by Georgia-Pacific of companies with a total value of $45 billion during his career. In the process, he led a transformation of the company from a commodity forest products concern to an international company with a major emphasis on consumer brands.

Mr. Correll serves as an outside director on the boards of Mirant Corp., Norfolk Southern Corp. and SunTrust Banks, Inc., all based in the Southeast. Mr. Correll is also extremely active in community affairs in Atlanta and nationally. These activities include board, advisory or trustee positions with the Atlanta Committee for Progress, Emory University School of Medicine, the Georgia Aquarium, the Nature Conservancy and the Robert W. Woodruff Arts Center. A native of Brunswick, Georgia, Mr. Correll holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Georgia and Master’s degrees in Pulp and Paper Technology and Chemical Engineering from the University of Maine.
